AI quoting for Atlanta distributors
Free score first: 30 of your past quotes, run on our Mac mini in Atlanta, before you pay. No real distributor list tested yet.
A distributor's quote desk repeats the same lookups all day, yet each line hides a trap: unit of measure, price break, a competitor's part number, freight. Staffbox has only been tested on two fictional companies, so a demo number says little about your catalog. Send up to three requests your desk already answered; drafts come back within 2 business days, with nothing installed at your counter.

Free 30-day pilot, then $595 a month at founding sites (first 100) for as long as the box is live (draft pricing). No customer install yet.
After the founding 100: $695 a month plus $1,800 onboarding. No Atlanta distributor has tried it; a free score on 30 of your past quotes runs first, on our Mac mini here in town.
Units, breaks, cross-references and freight are where a distributor draft can go wrong
Where we are: Staffbox has been tested on a fictional IT provider and a fictional cabinet shop, not yet on a real distributor price list. The wider segment page is AI quoting for distributors; this page is the Atlanta view, with the request shapes your free score would probe.
| Request | Why it is hard for a price-list reader | What we would test |
|---|---|---|
| "Same as last order, add 20 more." | The last order is in the sales system, not the price list. | Whether the draft asks which order, instead of guessing. |
| "Need 40 of the 3/4 in elbow." | Unit of measure: each, box or case? The list may price per hundred. | That the draft states the unit it priced. |
| Part-number cross reference | The customer uses a competitor's or old number. | A refusal with a question beats a wrong match. A refusal still counts as a miss on the scorecard. |
| Quantity breaks | Price per unit changes at 50, 100, 500. | That the break used is the right one for the quantity. |
| Will-call or delivery | Freight by zone, minimums, fuel charges. | Whether the draft prices delivery or flags it. |
| An item you do not stock | The nearest stocked item is tempting. | That the draft flags it instead of substituting (by design; 0 wrong totals in 475 test answers). |
| Several lines, one with a typo | Most lines price; one does not. | Priced lines stay, the unclear one is flagged. |
The unstocked-item row is the one with a measured history. On 5 Oct, six wrong totals in the generated tests all came from requests that also asked about an item not on the list; after a fix to the quote action, on 6 Oct, there were 0 wrong totals in 475 answers. Those were fictional lists, so your counter staff should still probe it with real examples. On a new trade it had never seen, an electrical distributor (14 Oct, Dell test box), the default Qwen3 8B setup scored 30 of 40 and 2 of 15 on messy requests, with 8 wrong prices in 55, because per-foot units, price levels and trade shorthand are not handled yet; that is why we score your own list first (the electrical result).
The first step runs on your files in Atlanta, and the files are deleted within 14 days of sending your results (per our draft data policy)
No box arrives at your branch for this. Four things happen, in this order:
What to put in the files:
- Thirty past quote requests, as they came in: the email text, not your cleaned-up version. Include the ugly ones. Leave out passwords and personal data.
- The price list that was current for those quotes, with its date. If prices changed during the period, send both versions and say which request used which.
- Your quote for each request, so we can compare. Redact customer names if you like.
- Your freight and minimum-order rules, written as you would tell a new hire. If you charge delivery by zone, send the zone table.
- The rules you do not want automated, such as quotes over a dollar amount that the owner always signs.
The price-list guide shows how to get a distributor list ready, including the columns that matter for unit of measure and breaks.
A refusal counts as a miss, so a draft cannot score well by declining
Your scorecard shows four numbers: the share of requests priced, the share right with no edits, the minutes your team spent editing, and the time to a draft at the 90th percentile. Counting refusals as misses stops a model from looking careful by declining everything. For reference only, on fictional sets our latest run (6 Oct 2026) got 15 of 15 unseen messy requests right and priced Fieldstone IT 40 of 40 with an average of 2.3 seconds and a 90th-percentile time of 5.3 seconds, one request at a time on a warm model.
A distributor's catalog is bigger and messier than a demo brain, so expect lower numbers on the first pass. Fixes follow a ladder: the brain first, then the tool, then the model. Every correction your team makes becomes a new test.
If it passes, you pay $595 a month at founding sites (first 100) for as long as the box is live, and the return gets measured
$595 a month at founding sites (first 100) for as long as the box is live, after a free 30-day pilot, with no onboarding fee; $695 a month plus $1,800 onboarding from unit 101.
The return on a distributor's desk is quotes per week times minutes saved per quote times a loaded hourly rate. That stays a projection until the pilot runs; then minutes saved are measured from your team's editing time. The arithmetic is in the pilot guide.
We are an Atlanta company and the test runs on a Mac in Atlanta, so a question by phone reaches a person: 404 493 6248. We make no claim here about the size of the Atlanta distribution market, because we have no sourced figure to give you. Questions
Have you tested on a real distributor?
No. Staffbox has been tested on two fictional companies, an IT provider and a cabinet shop. The free 30-quote score on your own price list is how you find out.
What if my price list is a PDF?
Send it as you have it and we tell you what needs cleanup. A spreadsheet export is easier to check. The price-list guide on this site shows the columns that matter.
Can it send quotes to my customers?
No. It writes drafts into a drafts folder. A person checks and sends. Staffbox has no sending code.
