Hermes Agent · For IT providers
Hermes Agent for MSPs: one scored offer for small clients
Short answer: IT providers install and give first-line support; Staffbox builds the brain and scores it free on 30 past quotes before anything is installed.
Small clients already ask their IT provider what AI can do with the price list and the quote inbox. Building that as a one-off project per client is slow to deliver and hard to support, and pasting pricing into a public chatbot is out for most of them. Staffbox packages Hermes Agent as one repeatable offer: you install and support it, we build the brain, and the client sees a score before paying. Ask for the draft partner terms in the form below; a person on our team replies with them.

You sell one job, one box and one score, at $595 a month at founding sites (first 100) for as long as the box is live (draft pricing)
The usual answer to "can AI help with our quotes?" is a project: pick a framework, wire it up, hope it works. Hermes Agent is a capable open-source base for that, and Staffbox is not affiliated with Nous Research. What Staffbox adds is the packaging that lets you sell the same thing twice: one job (drafting quotes from the client's price list), one box (a Mac mini on the client network), one score (graded on the client's own past quotes), and a person approving every reply.
Client price: $595 a month at founding sites (first 100) for as long as the box is live, free 30-day pilot, no onboarding fee; $695 a month plus $1,800 onboarding from unit 101. Partner terms are on request: email partners@staffbox.ai. We do not publish a partner share here because no signed partner terms exist to cite.
Sold and supported through managed IT providers; first partner conversations are under way and unnamed publicly. No customer has run Staffbox yet, so founding sites get the best price and shape the product. The measured results use fictional demo companies (an IT provider and a cabinet shop), graded by machine. They show the method works, not that your client's list will score the same. The free test is how you find out.
Before anything is installed, a seven-step check and a free score filter out poor fits
This is our suggested order. It is guidance, not a contract (our view).
- Fit. Does the client send at least 8 quotes a week from a price list? If not, stop here.
- Data. Is there a current price list in a file, and 30 past requests with the replies that went out?
- Score. Send them for the free 30-quote test. The client, not you, grades 10 held-back answers blind.
- Pass bar. Agree it in writing before day 0. The unit goes live only if the score clears it.
- Hardware. Pilots run on a 32 GB unit, measured on the same tests before day 0.
- Install. FileVault on before any customer data is loaded; mailbox and folder access agreed in writing.
- Month one. Review minutes saved from editing time, not guesses.
Raise compliance early. There is no SOC 2 or other certification, and no cyber or errors-and-omissions insurance is confirmed. If your client needs either, say so before step 3 rather than after the score.
After install, you hold first-line support and Staffbox holds the brain
The full who-does-what chart for the client, the IT provider and Staffbox is on the company page. The table below is the split between you and us, step by step.
| Step | IT provider | Staffbox |
|---|---|---|
| Choose the first client and job | Leads | Helps |
| Gather 30 past requests and the price list | With the client | Turns them into a test |
| Score before anything is installed | Joins the review | Runs it free on our Mac mini in Atlanta; client grades 10 held-back answers blind; files deleted within 14 days of sending your results (per our draft data policy) |
| Install the Mac on the client network | Does it | On the call |
| FileVault, firewall, keys-only SSH | Sets and checks them | Provides the install checklist |
| Build the brain from client files | Does it | |
| Monthly updates | Applies them | Re-runs the tests before and after (manual today; scripted update and rollback in review) |
| Monthly re-test | Joins | Re-runs on the client's quotes |
| Support | First line | Second line |
Remote access is SSH with keys only, keys belong to named people, and sessions are agreed with the client's IT contact in advance. macOS logs every SSH login. Only the founder administers customer-data systems at Staffbox today; installs and first-line support go through you.
Every month, updates ship only after the client's test set passes
Updates are manual today: the IT provider applies them monthly, and we re-run your tests before and after each monthly update. A scripted update and rollback are in review. One client box gets the same procedure as ten. The detail, including why a Hermes release or an Ollama change is never applied blind, is on the update and re-test page.
Staffbox's public record does not yet define an out-of-cycle process for an urgent security fix. Ask us for the current draft rather than assume one (not decided yet).
